Well.. this is one service that actually works. I brought up and
downloaded a copy of the original patent of my ancestor, Thomas Taylor
from Ohio, in very short order. Only needed his name and county.
Didn't need to pay the $10. I have ACDC and it viewed it fine. Most
folks will have some kind of paint program that will view them, also.
A year ago, it cost me a lot of work getting the property description
to send to NARA, filling out NARA forms, and waiting weeks before I
had a photo-copy. This took less than 1 minute, even with the sign in.
Now, as for Kansas, many of those files have 10-30 pieces of paper in
them..... we'll have to see how those files come out.
