Hello,
I am looking for information on James Taylor and possible wife Rachel.
James Taylor received a land grant in Wahington Co.,VA that became
Russell Co.,VA. Here are some of the mentions of James Taylor and his
possible widow Rachel:

In 1803 James Lemar and Mary, legatee of James Taylor sell land in
Russell Co.,VA:
Implied Marriages Of Russell County, Virginia compiled by Mary D Fugate
C.G.R.S.
James Lemarr: 12 Oct 1803; Mary heir & legatee of James Taylor (Fugate's
reference Russell Co. Deed Book 3 page 458 (This book tries to provide
possible marriages implied from deeds, wills, and such of marriages not
recorded.)
James Lemar and MAry Taylor Lemar ended up in Claiborne Co.,TN where
James died in 1821 and Mary after 1830.
I found one reference in Washington Co.,VA court minutes from the time
James Taylor would have been alive that mentions James and William
Taylor being fined for selling alcohol above the set rates. William is
listed later for the same thing. No further record of James in
Washington Co.,VA.
I am looking for parents, other relatives, and descendants of James
Taylor; his wife's maiden name, where they were before Washington &
Russell Co.,VA; and any other pertinent information or leads.
Thank you for any information.
Sincerely,
Lyle LeMasters
