Susan Tetley married Thomas Denison/Dennison in 1869 at Bradford (FreeBMD). But which Susan/Susannah/Susy was she?
Looking for guidance in the 1881 census, I find this entry:-
Susan DENISON Head W Female 33 Bowling Nr Bd, York, England
Anne DENISON Daur Female 11 Eccleshill, York, England Scholar
Abraham DENISON Son Male 10 Eccleshill, York, England Scholar
John William DENISON Son Male 4 Eccleshill, York, England Scholar
Mary Ann DENISON Daur Female 2 Eccleshill, York, England

The daughter Mary Ann, fits with the right age. Unfortunately, Thomas is deceased, but I'm sure we have the right Susan, because all the other Susans in the 1881 census have husbands whose name is
NOT Thomas.
So, Susan was born about 1847/8 in Bowling.
By my reckoning, that makes her the daughter of Samuel Tetley & Maria Overend.
Another branch of the family nicely pieced together!
Thanks Richard!
> Maude Mary daughter of John & Ann Richardson formerly Tetley of 35 Park Street Bradford Warehouseman born 17 December 1878 baptized 12 January 1879 page 37 number 182
John & Ann married in 1868. Ann was the daughter of a William Tetley, but I'm not sure which one? They had 7 children that we're aware of.
> Grace daughter of Squire & Hannah Haley formerly Tetley born Dundas Street Laisterdyke Brick Maker on 20 October 1876 baptized 4 July 1880 now living at Brumpton Road Bowling page 249 number 1241
This family appear as Healey in the 1881 census
Squire HEALEY Head M Male 39 Tong Birstal, York, England Forman Brick & Tile Maker
Hannah HEALEY Wife M Female 40 Tong Birstal, York, England Brick Makers Wife
Daniel HEALEY Son U Male 16 Caverley, York, England Brick Burner
Annie HEALEY Daur Female 11 Caverley, York, England Scholar
Amelia HEALEY Daur Female 9 Caverley, York, England Scholar
Albert HEALEY Son Male 6 Caverley, York, England Scholar
Grace HEALEY Daur Female 4 Bradford, York, England Scholar

So, Hannah was born 1840ish in Birstal, which, by my reckoning, makes her the daughter of Emanuel Tetley & Grace Collinson, which nicely explains the daughter's name. She was named after Hannah's
mother!
Another family pieced together. Real progress tonight! :-)
Cheers
