Lindsey Mendenhall Thayer, 63
Lindsey M. "Buddy" Thayer, 63, of 129 Sunset Drive, Youngsville, died
Friday, July 12. He was born in Montgomery County to the late Wyatt
Wilson Thayer (1912-1993) and Mildred Russell Thayer (1913-1999). In addition to his parents,
Buddy was predeceased by a sister, Marilyn Edwards.
A graveside service was held Sunday afternoon, July 14, at Highland
Memory Gardens in Louisburg with the Rev. Gene Cobb and the Rev. Jay
Mr. Thayer is survived by his wife, Ellen Strother Thayer; a daughter
and son-in-law, Teresa and Ken Gore of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, John
Thayer of Atlanta, Ga.; a grandson, Kenny Gore; a brother and
sister-in-law, Wyatt Wilson “Sonny” Thayer Jr. and Mozelle of Louisburg;
two sisters and brothers-in-law, Myra and Jim Endler of Garrison, N.Y.,
and Nina and Barnett Reynolds of Raleigh; a brother-in-law, Lioniel
Edwards of Raleigh; nieces and nephews, Jamie and Al Jones and Teddy
Thayer of Louisburg, Peter and and Anne Endler and Julie and Paul
Heckert, all of Garrison.
The Thayer family wishes to extend a special word of thanks to Dr. Mark
Yoffe and his staff of the Rex Cancer Center, the staff of Hospice of
Wake County and the staff of Triangle Primary Care Associates of Wake
Forest for all of their support during Buddy’s illness.
