I have tracked the Vinyard family from the Palatines (they spelled it
'Weinert' then) to Maryland then to Botetourt Co (which at that time took up
alot more space than it does today) and then splintered with two members of
the family going to Grainger Co., Tn and starting a whole new family tree
there. Even going as far as changing the spelling by adding the "E" to make
it Vineyard. Part of the family is still there in the original farmhouses!
I would like to trace the family back through the Palatines but haven't
gotten that far yet.
Would the Warick or Carolina roads have been used to bring them to South
Western Va? We live about 5 miles from where they crossed in Franklin Co.
and wondered.
