I'm finding the history presented on this list to be quite
fascinating. I have always wondered how the Amick (Emigh)
Alsatian/Germans arrived in PA in 1732 and so quickly
got to North Carolina sometime between 1750-60. They
mostly married other Germanic folks - Rausch, Kobel, Foust.
But my great-grandfather Alonzo Cooper Amick married Alice
Grey Moore. [in 1881 in MO] His father Leander had married
Melissa Lampton, but is English rather than Scots.
I would be really interested in a bibliography of books
about these migrations. Perhaps it could be part of the
FAQ for this list.
