One of the most heavily traveled wagon roads in the east. Settlers from PA.
were often looking for old Rowan County. The good word had been spread back to
their European homelands. After a short stay here they packed up and moved
back up the Carolina Road and on into eastern TN. And often on the Illinois and
points beyond. Good database on Rowan County families.
