Hopefully, someone has some additional info, or perhaps this could help someone.

I am one of the decendants of EDWARD FRANKLIN THOM(P)SON b. 1974 d.1879
Family history has it that Edward was born on board boat as his family
immigrated from Scotland, (by way of the port of Belfast IR.). A family
bible gives the name of "Simella Thomson - Her Bible 1795," and also the
name of Samuel is given on this page. From this bible it is assumed then
that family aguired the "P" in Thompson after they arrived in the U.S. The
bible also lists the marriage of Edward Franklin and Debra ? in Aug of 1815.
A few years after the family's arrival, some or all (except Edward) died in
a cholora epidemic (presumably in Philidelphia PN. Edward was raised by a
German Quaker family by the name of Patterson
It is believed that once he becam an adult he lived in or near Trappe. PN.
until 1860 when Edward and his son, Edward II, and family moved to
Monticello, IN. They moved to MO. on 1869 and then to NE (Falls City area).
Many of the decendants of the Edward II family lived in S.E. NE and E. KS area

Edward's first son, Beniah, also lived in or near Trappe, PN until 1856 when
he moved his family to Winterset, IA and then in 1857 on to Rochester,
(N.W.) MO Area.
