BIO-GRAPHS

CAPT. DANIEL G. THOMPSON (dec'd), b - 5/13/1830, Warren Co., TN, son of
Richard
& Sarah (McGuire) Thompson, both natives of Kentucky, from whence they
moved to
Indiana in 1835, locating in Geer twp., as a saddler, farmed and at being a
carpenter until he enlisted in Sept., 1862 in Co. K., 42nd Indiana Regt.,
elected Capt. And served until ill health caused his discharge in Dec., 1863.
He died 8/1882, Lynnville. He married America Clinton, 10/27/1852 and had
nine
children, of who the following are yet living, Sarah Belle Thompson, m-W.E.
Willis; George E. Thompson, m-Mattie Ferguson; Gertie Thompson; and Hattie
Thompson. (History of Warrick & other co.'s of Indiana, pg 205).

JAMES A. THOMPSON, (one of the pioneers of Jefferson, Boone Co., IN)
b-5/26/1799, Nicholas Co., KY; married Martha Blair, 2/19/1824; she was b -
11/22/1804, KY; they settled in Boone Co., 1830. She d - 5/26/1866; he d -
12/28/1867, both buried Shannondale Cemetery Montgomery Co., IN. He was
associate judge a number of years; children: Joseph A. Thompson(b-1/8/1825);
Mary J. Thompson (10/29/1826); Levi N. Thompson (b-8/28/1828); Wallace M.
Thompson (b- 5/12/1831); Chester G. Thompson (b - 5/8/1833); Martin B.
Thompson
(b - 12/9/1835); Susan A. Thompson (b - 6/5/1838); Cynthia A. Thompson ( b -
8/12/1840); and William B. Thompson ( b - 4/22/1843). (Early Life in Boon

IN, p 383).

NELSON W. THOMPSON, Supt. Of bridges & buildings of the western division of
the
Pittsburgh, Ft. Wayne & Chicago Railroad, form Crestline to Englewood, b
Clarendon, Orleans Co., NY. His father, Warren Thompson, removed his
family to
Hillsdale, Co., MI, 1838 and resided there until his death in 1882. At the
age
of 17 Nelson Thompson came to Indiana, then worked in various place, farmed in
Michigan and Nebraska. In 1861 he started work for the railroad etc. He
married Nancy Orcutt, 1853, Osseo, MI. (Hist. Of Valley of the Upper Maumee
River, IN, 1889, p 73).

Note: Electra Foote, b 3/14/1806, Addison Co., VT, married Warren Thompson,
1829, Middlebury, VT. He was b 1/26/1806, d 10/18/1883, Osseo, MI. She d
3/7/1865. Children: Nelson W. Thompson, b 5/7/1830, d 2/22/1903/ Russell
Thompson, b 10/10/1832, d 4/14/`846; Eliza Thompson, b 8/5/1834, M Morris
Lamb, 3/5/1854, Osseo, MI (a list of children given); Martha Jane Thompson,

RICHARD G. THOMPSON, passenger and ticket agent of the Wabash railroad, Ft.
Wayne, IN, b 8/3/1820, Lyons, IA, son of Richard G. and Sarah (Harris)
Thompson. Richard G. Thompson Sr., b 5/4/1825, Harrisburg, PA. Sarah
Harris,
b 4/29/1830, NY, daughter of Jud. Davis Harris. (They now reside in
Michigan)
Richard G. Thompson, Jr. was educated in Reading, MI and began his railroad
life in 1880. (Hist. Of Valley of the Upper Maumee River, 1889, p 70-71).
