Smith, 17 Nov. 1860; m. second Elizabeth Mahelia (Thompson) Seaton 29
May 1867. In addition to children reported in Winter 1990 issue, pp.
15-16, it has been discovered that there was a son Abraham Thompson b.
ca 1861: there is a guardianship file for him, dated 1871, saying that
he was 10 years old and had been living for three years with David R.
True. On the 1880 Census for Gratiot, Wisconsin, he is living with his
grandparents. John Thompson, Sr's petition to prove will of 1889 lists
Abraham as a grandson living at Peach Spring, Mohave Co., AZ, as was his
uncle Samuel Thompson who married in 1892 in Flagstaff, AZ. Seek
information on Abraham Thompson.

JAMES THOMPSON IN CRAVEN COUNTY, SOUTH CAROLINA 1756
"Memorial exhibited by JAMES THOMPSON to be registered in the Auditor's
office . . a tract of 860 acres in Craven County, originally bounding to
the north east on Mr. Francis Wood's land: to the northeast on Pee Dee
River, which said tract was by His Majesty King George the Second
granted unto Mrs. May Raum, at quit rent of 3/ sterling of 4/
proclamation money per hundred acres, to commence two years from date,
which said May and widow of Thomas Cooper of Charlestown, merchant,
deceased, and by indentures of lease and release, bearing dates the 7th
and 8th days of April 1756. conveyed the above mentioned tract to the
Memorial ist. In witness whereof he hath hereunto set his hand the 9th
day of April 1756. JAMES THOMPSON. (VII, p. 118).
