Pam (or Anyone),

Tell me about John Thorne there in the group above. If I go with the
alternate generations honoring their elders with names of children, this
could be the hunch I was looking for. My best guess is that my John Thorn
from my earlier posting could be the son of Edward Thorn (1830 SC census).
If Edward is the son of your John, he would have named his son for his
Father. In turn, my John would have named his 2nd son for his father
(Edward, 1830 SC census). I know it is a reach, but the names repeat in
every second generation several times in my branch. Edward is one of those
names: My son Edward, my uncle is Edward, his great uncle was the civil war
vet Edward Thorn, b 1845 SC, who is the son of John Thorn (b, 1820 SC) seen
in the 1870 Georgia census in Bartow County and is the first one to come to
Georgia in my line.

What do you know about your John Thorne, b 1737. Did he also come to SC?
