Quoting Bob Velke message of 15 Jul 99,

May I respectfully suggest programming goof-ups in the existing
TMG be repaired before enhancements are considered.
On 12 Dec 1998, I reported a problem with "unique" endnotes.
When sending "non-unique" endnotes to a ASCII text file, the
endnote numbers are shown in the text surrounded by <angle
brackets>. (e.g., Pennsylvania; <1>,<2>). This is a great way to
highlight endnote references.
But, when sending the same report using "unique" endnotes, there
are *NO* angle brackets. (e.g., Pennsylvania; 1,2). This is very
confusing when reading the text file. Can this be corrected?
Not only confusing, but looks like heck; and it is difficult for
me to defend TMG for this sloppy looking output.
On 14 Dec 1998, Lissa Soergel <> replied "I'm
sending your suggestion to Bob for his consideration," a very
prompt response, I must say.
Why do I want ASCII text files with "unique" endnotes rather
than "non-unique" endnotes? So I can send reports via Email
without a long trail of endnotes that repeat themselves.
Well, version 4.0 comes out, and this has not been corrected.
Also, Bob Velke wrote in message of 30 Jun 1999:

Well, I would rather not build up long distance charges, so I
sent a repeat request for the problem to be corrected to
on 2 June 1999 with copy to <>
No response yet. So I now go public hoping to get a response of
some kind.
