I wish to add Godparents to some baptisms I had already entered. On my
first attempt to do so, I tried to enter a married couple as Godparents
to a child for which I had already entered tags for birth and baptism.
There seemed no option the enter a married couple at one time. First, I
tried to figure out if there were any difference between the Godparent
tag and Godfather/Godmother tags. I couldn't see any. Hence, I tried the
Godparent tag first and entered it off the person view to the child. An
options screen came up, and I chose the ID# of the Godfather first since
he was already in my data base. Then a strange thing happened. A screen
came up asking me if I wanted to enter a marriage between the Godfather
and an unrelated female person, actually the sister of the Godmother I
was planning to enter - the actual wife of the Godparent I was
attempting to enter! I said no and the Godparent-Godchild tag was made
and inserted into the person view of the child. However, there was no
date - it wasn't tied to the baptism date like I thought it should be. I
found no place where I could put in my own date. At this point I quit
and deleted the Godparent tag. I had exactly the same result with the
Godfather tag. There doesn't seem to be much about it in the manual.

I want to just add either the already married Godparents as a pair, or
add people singly if they are not married, without an options screen
asking me if I wish to enter a marriage between them (they're already
married) or some other person (not germane because they are single).
Finally, I want the date to be that of the baptism, since they are
obviously witnesses and participants at it.

I hope I've explained this okay because it is confusing to me.
