No. When you a GEDCOM file is imported, TMGW automatically creates a new
dataset.

Suppose you create a one (dummy) person dataset with expanded Reference
field with a dataset name of JONES01. Then when you import the GEDCOM
file, TMGW will ask for the name to be given the new dataset. If you give
it the name of JONES01, TMG will overwrite the one person dataset with the
new GEDCOM information after deleting the old dataset (it will warn you
that you are about to delete an existing dataset).
