Well, ok, maybe not the EXACT film, but the EXACT version of
the film, as in the FHL version as opposed to, say, a local
historical society's version of the same documents. There's
a possibility that the documents were microfilmed by two
different agencies at two different times and are different
from each other. Hypothetically, if I'm looking at the
version from the historical society and the page I want
isn't there (but is cited as being there in the research I'm
attempting to verify), and if I didn't know that someone
used the version from the FHL, then I might conclude that
the researcher falsified records. Probably wouldn't do that
without further research, but you get the idea.
