I have the same problems when sending the files to the c:\ drive, without
a directory structure. I use the default file name which is merckle1.sqz.
I think the problem stems from the fact that my windows explorer has an
icon for an A:\ drive, but none is installed. It is set up that way for
the external drive which may be coming next month (backordered).

If in the meantime the backups that I'm creating manually are ok even with
the cancel-abort-retry message, then I can deal with it as an idiocyncracy
of my laptop. Once I click cancel, the backup appears to run normally if
I run it from within the program. It fails if I request the backup on
exit.
