Subject: [TMG] V4.0c - Descendancy Chart to HTML - lines wrapping in unattractive places
Date: Sat, 4 Nov 2000 10:13:52 -0500
I've run a Descendancy Chart to HTML and noticed that the lines seem to
have forced carriage returns at places that make the chart look bad. The
lines are not very long, so I don't think that it's a question of wrapping
to fit the screen. I had not run this same report prior to 4.0c, so this
may or may not be new behaviour. When I "View Source" for this page, I
notice that the spots where the forced carriage returns are appear to be
fixed; that is, if I make the View Source screen larger or smaller, these
carriage returns remain where they are. This is difficult to explain.
I've put the page on my site - maybe it will help if you see it for
yourself;

You'll see that the first line, for example, breaks after the "d.";

I noticed the <PRE> tag in the View Source screen and wondered if this had
something to do with it, so I removed the <PRE> and </PRE> tags, and the
forced carriage returns go away (these tags are still in the above web
page). I could edit the pages each time I generate them, but this would,
of course, be tedious - is there any setting in the Report Definition that
controls the insertion of these tags?
thanks, beth
p.s. I didn't copy over any of the other pages, so the links won't work.
