Peg:

I definitely agree with you. Don't get immersed in the mire and muck, just
learn the basics. When I first started I decided to start with myself and
put in every type of tag possible for me. It gave me an idea how it would
work and what I wanted to see. Being a military wife, I had lots of moves
and address and made sure my children were 'witnesses' to the moves,
baptisms as an adult, remarriage, etc. I was amazed after I completed it
(well, first I was exhausted) at how many functions I had used. They I went
and tried every other function I could to see what would happen. Some I did
not feel I would use yet and others I wanted to use right away.

When you feel comfortable of the basics, then is the time to strike out
again. It is sort of like in genealogy. You collect alot of data and clues
and don't know what they mean. Later when you know more about that person
and you pull out your file and go back over the data, you suddenly realize
that in the information you collected at the very first had a clue to help
you overcome an obstacle that you had now .. it just did not mean anything
to you then.
