Dale:
I had a problem that I had to discuss with a Tech Rep at WhollyGenes
and mentioned that I was backing up to a CD from the program and was
told that this software will not recognize the CD Backup, and I would
not have useable information. That feature would be in the next upgrade
but not 4.0 Gold. I was told to open Windows Explorer and send the
info to the CD from there (could not go directly to the CD from the
program).
I wanted a backup folder so that I could find my files faster and
backup to the CD so I opened a new folder called Backups and had to
paste the sqz and config files to it since I didn't know how else to get
them in the folders. I had originally set up my backup (in the Advanced
Tab of Config.) to my M Drive which is my CD-RW. I was told I could not
do that - it wouldn't work. Could not restore it if needed. So now I
just go to my sqz and conf files in TMG and send them to the CD. Since
my post, I don't paste any more files into the Backup folder since that
takes longer too. I thought there would be an easier way to do it.
I did have a CD with numerous backups of my data files and whether they
would work or not, I don't know. After my conversation with the Tech
Rep, I discarded the CD and started over going to Wind. Exp. then TMG
and then data and conf files being sent to CD. The Tech Rep was
surprised that I was able to get anything on the CD from the Program
Backup. I have just started using TMG and don't know enough about it,
to discuss it intelligently - I assumed the Tech Rep knew the program.
