and I seem to recall E. S. Mills saying (to use the word loosely, lol) on
this list a year or so ago, that "say" and "circa/about" had relatively
standard meanings in genealogical usage. I have a copy here someplace --
maybe under that stack of census readings or over there under those
photographs....
