Hi,
I gather that textbridge has been discontinued. Scansoft (makers of
textbridge) merged/took over the makers of OmniPage Pro. So scansoft are
pushing Omnipage as the superior product. I upgraded my textbridge to
Omnipage, but haven't installed it yet.

I ocr'd lots of jpgs (scans from a book), and it's a real pain. It totally
screws up the page layout. So I just disregard the layout and format it
myself. I find it takes me about 5 - 10 minutes per page to correct/tidy up
an ocr'd 'page'. But as it would take me about 45+ mins to type it in, so I
guess I'm ahead of the game..

Bill

I just bought a digital camera ($500) on the supposition that I can take
pictures of text with them and use them for copying textual material in
libraries etc with my camera and placing them in my computer. I can do all
that just fine. So far I have not found anyone who has ever converted such
images, either JPG or Tiff into editable text in a Word Processor. Everyone
agrees it can be done but no one seems to ever have actually done it. Some
say Textbridge ought to do it but before I buy that software I would like to
be sure all is possible. I already have OCR software bundled with my scanner
but I haven't figured out if that can be used on non-scanned images-Dale
