I am not sure I understand the question, but I use the Begeman system for
entering census data. With that system the date of the census generally puts
the census information in the appropriate place on the person screen. Since I
use the sort date field of the census tag to put census folks in the
appropriate order in the census screen that makes it unavailible for other
sorting. Thus in the few occurrences in which, for example, perhaps a person
dies in the same year as appearing in the census I might stick a sort date in
the death tag sort field of say 31 Dec 1850 to make sure the death sorts out
after the census entry.-Dale
