Perhaps it is dangerous to stick my nose in here; however, I do think
that there should be default sentences that can be modified to the
researchers taste when other than natural relationships are specified.
When the researcher has gone to the effort to designate a relationship
as, say, adopted as I have in some cases, this should by default
generate a sentence to that effect in descendency narratives and
perhaps other descendency reports. I know that I can and probably
should create adoption tags to clarify the relationship, but if I do
not have any data about the adoption this is difficult to remember. I
tried to create a default sentence for the Son-Ado tag, but TMG would
not let me enter anything in the sentence field.

Personally, I want these relationships to show in descendency reports
because I am far more interested in Family History than I am in
biology (which is often questionable anyway). But the report should
show something about the actual relationship, and I think it should be
by default which the researcher would be free to change, of course.
Since we have specified an adopted relationship it should not be
reported in exactly the same way as a natural relationship.

Certainly TMG knows all about the relationship and the Father's Event
Type is Ado, not Nat for adopted children, so we have not designated
him as THE father whether primary or not. TMG should follow through on
this in some way. I'm not sure I would call the failure to do this a
flaw, but it certainly is an inconvenience that TMG could help make
more convenient as it does so many other things.

Perhaps TMG could follow the pattern it uses in cases of entering
spouses. After the spouse is entered, TMG politely asks if we want to
create a marriage tag. It would be in this same spirit if after
creating a Son-Ado that TMG would ask if we want to create an Adoption
tag. At least it would remind us to do so.

I'm afraid I have been caught in this trap also, but I did not realize
it until I read this thread.
