Neil and others: Who said that only location of the source goes into the CD.
Who said what should go into the memo field. Did you? Certainly I did not,
and we, you and I, and hundreds of other users of TMG are the judges of what
goes into what fields. If there is one great thing about TMG it is the
extreme flexibility of the program which allows a great variety of personal
preference. As far as I know there is no TMG body similar to the group of
French linguists who sit around and make up French language rules to try and
keep the language pure. TMG is more like English. The rules grow out of the
usage, not vice versa. My rule is this: I put into the CD anything I want to
put there. This turns out to be mostly information which doesn't fit well in
a memo field which prints in the body of my narratives. So, information which
I want the reader (and myself) to note and be aware of, but that tends to
disturb the flow of the narrative goes into the CD and winds up as a footnote
or an endnote. Information that is needed and fits into the narrative goes
into the memo fields. That is my usage and my rule-Dale
