I have also thought of a "primary citation" then could select option to
use all cites or just "primary" (maybe could even allow multiple
"primary" for one event so you could select which ones to show?

The general idea is to eliminate the long string of source reference
numbers that can follow a name or event in the text of a report when you
have a number of Sources cited on a Tag. I figure that if I ever
publish, I'll clean up and only use the most relevant sources. But in
the meantime I find I send reports to cousins with long strings of
source references, which make the text ugly to read. Worse, if I send a
report to a cousin that's not really interested in genealogy, I may
leave the sources off to improve readability. But then I worry that that
very copy may turn up for some future genealogist, and all the source
info will be missing. I think being able to reduce the source references
to one per event would help that.
