Thanks for the suggestion. I am hoping to be able to do that without needing to create a flag, because I want to be able to do this for 'me and my family'
as well as 'my spouse and her family' - and there are clearly some individuals who are in both those sets.

I guess that I'm looking for some way of doing a filter that starts with 'me' and includes ancestors back xxx generations, and descendants of those
ancestors without duplication forward yyy generations, and also includes any other spouses.

Something like the kinship filter, but even that seems to leave out some ....
