Yes.

Yes. IE browser will activate any HTML coding (good or bad) in a message.
By deactivating/unselecting it in Eudora, you are more or less viewing
messages in a text editor environment rather than in a HTML environment.
According to info out on the virus KLEZ, the IE browser is the real
culprit. By viewing in this browser, it activates the coding to the
virus/worm which uses the security holes in the MS Outlook/Outlook Express
E-mail programs. Of course if one gets all the security patches to plug up
these holes they may be safe for a few weeks until another new virus comes
out that finds another vulnerability in those programs. Then it may take
the anti-virus programs a couple of days to develop new definitions and a
month or so for MS to plug the new holes leaving one vulnerable a couple of
days or more to the new virus. Someone posted this URL on the KLEZ a few
days ago. It is very eye opening:
