Hi:

If you have Norton and use Live Update, and if you keep Win XP
auto-updated, then the need for a different e-mail client from Outlook is
vastly reduced, in my opinion. But the problem is not eliminated. Because
of Microsoft's aggressive extensions to, violations of, and attempted
co-opting of, e-mail standards in its Outlook family, it will usually have
a broader range of features than other clients, although any specific
client may be better at certain types of tasks. That is, in my opinion, the
reason why the MS programs are so vulnerable to hackers and malicious programs.

Eudora (not Endura) is an e-mail client, and it could be called an e-mail
management system. It is a replacement for, or alternative to, Outlook and
can be used with just about any e-mail provider I know about with the
*possible* exception of AOL (and it may work with AOL too for all I know).
For example, my ISP is Sprynet (owned by Earthlink) and I use Eudora as my
client.
