Hi Richard,

I have now downloaded the trial version of TMG 5.02 (it took 4 hours to read
my FTW file - is that normal? App. 4.500 persons), and I have a couple of
questions:

1 How do you get rid of the preceding zero in the day, when you are looking
at single digits days?
2 How do you show the full name of the month, instead of a 3 letter
abbreviation?
3 Is it normal, that a descendant tree (chart) in VCF takes 30 minutes, when
it in FTM takes less than 30 seconds?
4 How do you colour code female boxes apart from male boxes in charts?
5 How do you shows "Friends" to descendants in descendant's charts?

I have some more questions, but will wait, until these are answered.

Hi Ole,

Slight correction. This is a good place to learn about importing your
FTM files into The Master Genealogist. Like FTM, TMG can read "My
Family.FTW" or whatever your file is named. After you have TMG, I and
many others will be more than happy to answer FTM questions as they
relate to TMG.

I actually do not mind FTM vs. TMG questions because I have TMG and I
had every version of FTM from 1996 through 7.0. I tried TMG using the
90 money back guarantee. During the first couple weeks I really
wondered if I had made the right choice. Long before the 90 period
ended, I knew that I had made the right choice. I sometimes get ticked
about something in TMG. I also know that there is a chance I can
convince the president of Wholly Genes to change what I do not like.
At one time that was true about Banner Blue but then Brøderbund bought
Banner Blue. What FTM never had during the time I used FTM was good
customer support. TMG support is unbelievable. Once in awhile some
questions will get lost in the works but most of the time the user has
an answer within a few business hours.
