Why should "Friends" be displayed in a Descendant Chart???? They are not
related. Or am I missing something here???

| Hi Richard,
|
| As far as I understand, I cannot produce report - by now - so I cannot
test
| the date formats in reports, unless you mean charts.
|
| Nevertheless I would have liked, if I were able to see the 2 januar 2002
(in
| Danish format) instead of 02 Jan 2002 date, or 02 Oct 2002 instead of 2
| oktober 2002 (in Danish format - controlled by the setting in the
| International setting in the Control Panel!!!!).
|
| Concerning Friends I had expected, that when they were in the TMG database
| as Friends, they were also displayed in the VCF as Friends, but apparently
| they are not.
|
| Why do I have to add that in the VCF? I have already done it once in TMG,
| and they are registered there as Friends??!!
|
| Where are the advantages of TMG compared to other Genealogy programs?

| Hi Ole,
|
| I am very glad to hear that you are trying TMG.
|

| I assume that you mean a date like 02 Jan 2002 displayed on the
| screen. I do not believe that you can have single digit days but when
| you produce a report, you will have a wide range of options for how
| dates appear in reports. Including the option to spell the months in
| full.

| See above.

|
| I will not say that 30 minutes is normal. I have not had one take
| anywhere near that long. However I will say that a similar chart in
| TMG will take a longer than FTM because VCF allows the user many
| options. I am not into charts and can not answer your questions well
| but hopefully Robin or Terry or someone more familiar with VCF will
| respond.

|
| How are you using the term "Friends"? In the sense that a couple had
| no formal relationship but had child(ren)? If you mean in a non
| genealogical sense, like my friend lives next door, you would have to
| add them to the chart in VCF. Keep in mind that a chart is not
| necessarily finished when it opens on screen. If you do not like what
| you see, you can modify the chart.

| Since you have questions about VCF and I can not answer them, I will
| modify the subject for my reply to better attract the attention of
| someone who does use VCF.
