Hi Joan

I have a 5200C as well. I did add additional memory to my computer and it
made a huge difference in scanning times. I default to 200dpi TIF adjusting
if I need to but I dont have time to go do anything else :). I had 64
originally on my desktop and added another 256. I think you also had the
option of USB or Parallel when these scanners were out. Check yours is USB.

Teresa,

You and a number of other folks seem to do a lot of scanning. Please tell
me.. what scanner are you using? Mine is so cockeyed slow that it is an
ordeal to do. I know that I need more memory in my computer, but isn't
that
independent of the scanner? I have 64 MB Ram with 70% free & a 2 Gig hard
drive.. with over 300 MB free. My scanner is HP ScanJet 5200C. It has
taken up to 20 min. to scan one picture!

Thanks for any suggestions.

Joan Thomas
