Hi Gang

Just some info on printing large VCF files. I have been trying to print a
decendant box chart for the last three weeks. The chart was generated in
TMG-v.5. All that would show up in print preview as well as in actual
printing was a strip the height of the page about 3 inchs wide with
squashed up data boxes. I have Windows 98 on my desktop PC. After 4 calls
to Whooly Genes trying to track down the problem, I finally was able solve
the problem. They kept telling me I needed newer drivers for my printer. I
downloaded and installed the latest drivers. No help. On my fouth call they
put me in touch with the person who does most of the VCF charts sent to
them for printing. It turns out that if you have Windows 98, even if it
works fine printing large files from TMG 4.0d VCF files, it can't handle
large files from VCF TMG V.5. due to a change in how they are encoded. You
MUST use Windows 2000 or XP for these new files. Luckly, I just purchased a
new notebook about a month ago with
Windows XP on it. I transfered the VCF file to the laptop, hooked it to the
printer and, BINGO, everything printed just fine.
