Dear Teresa, Darrell, and Caroline,

Now I can see why they say this program is complex but not complicated <G>.
For me, an entirely new user, having all these options can be confusing and
daunting! I want to thank you all for your suggestions and now I must ponder
how to best approach this. It does seem that having the source as IGI and
using the CD area to give the type of record and details such as batch #
would make it easier. On the other hand, I understand how Darrell's comment
of "You can then make it
inactive so it won't clutter up the Master Source List (but it will still
be available). Don't put information that identifies the Source document in
the Citation Detail; except for such things as page numbers in a book, the
CD should be reserved for the details of how the Source supports the Tag"
makes sense.

I was hoping for a simple answer <g> .

Thank you, Ann

Hi:

I am of the contrary opinion. Make each IGI entry a separate source, and
connect it to all the Tags it supports via citations. You can then make it
inactive so it won't clutter up the Master Source List (but it will still
be available). Don't put information that identifies the Source document in
the Citation Detail; except for such things as page numbers in a book, the
CD should be reserved for the details of how the Source supports the Tag.

This is a matter of opinion, not of a "right or wrong way" to do things.
Caroline has her opinion; now you have read mine [grin].

Darrell
