Subject: [TMG] Accent Ancestors-grandparents, aunts & uncles, cousins?
Date: Thu, 26 Sep 2002 08:39:45 -0400
My paper family group sheets are color coded - blue are my grandparents, great grandparents, etc., white my aunts and uncles, and yellow - cousins, sons and daughters of the aunts and uncles. I limit my research on the computer to those 3 generations to keep the numbers under control. My color system helps me keep family group sheets very organized and immediately recognizable as to which generation they belong to. It also helps me STOP at the proper number of generations, it is so easy to go on and not know when to stop.
I would like to set up accent colors the same way for all of these families. Is there a way to do this? I know the grandparents will be easy, since they are my direct ancestors, and the rest already have a white background, but what about cousins? How would I set them apart from aunts and uncles and grandparents?
Would I need to somehow override grandparents showing up as white on their parent's pages? I would like them to show up as blue with all their brothers and sisters white so the direct ancestor is immediately shown when listed with the parents. On my family group sheets I do this with a yellow sticker. I have seen people do it with a check mark or an X on the paper family group sheet.
Thank you,
Jann
