It appears that no one has responded, so let me try, even though I'm not
completely sure of the answers.

In TMG4, you can use the option in the System Configuration screen to
use the Lat/Long field for Temple information. Thus, it seems to me,
TMG4 doesn't use the field for both, but uses it for one or the other,
depending on the setting you make. So I assume that upon import, the
data is placed in TMG5 according to the setting when the dataset was
last used in TMG4. I've not tested this, so can't be positive.

Place styles are specific to data sets. When you create a new dataset in
an existing project, you have the option to copy the styles, among other
things, from an existing dataset to the new one. But this doesn't help
when you import from TMG4 (or elsewhere). But the following, though I've
not tested it, I think should work:
1. Start with a project containing the dataset ("Old TMG5 DS") with the
styles you want to keep. If you plan to delete the Old TMG5 DS when
done, proceed as below. Or, if you want both Old TMG5 DS and Imported DS
to be in the same Project when done, also proceed as below. But if you
want the Project containing Old TMG5 DS to remain separate when done,
make a copy of that project and work with the copy in the following steps.
2. Import your TMG4 DS into your existing TMG5 Project.
3. In the Old TMG5 DS, create (or identify existing) people using each
of the styles you want to copy to your Imported DS.
4. Copy the people from step 3 from Old TMG5 DS to Imported DS. This is
the part I haven't tested, but I expect the styles to copy with them. If
so, you can now delete these people in Imported DS.
5. If you do not want Old TMG5 DS to be part of this Project any more,
now delete it.
