The discussion that you referred to was talking about project (data) files
and not program files.

Copying the entire folder in which v4x is installed on your laptop to your
desktop may work or it may not, I am unsure. I would guess that there are
other things involved including that there may be files in other folders
that are needed.

If you have lost your Installation CD set for v4x, you might contact Wholly
Genes about acquiring another CD set for just a few dollars -- mostly just
the cost of the CDs themselves plus postage.
