I think it's truncating because of the 32x16 ... try 32x32 or 16x16.
Changing bit depth depends on the program you're using to create the
icons.

How do you set/change bit-depth? The latest version of my button is
32x16
pixels, 96dpi, 24 bit-depth...TMG is still truncating it.
