Whenever I cite a source that's citing some other source, I do this:
create one source for the main source (a book or e-mail or whatever)
then use CD to cite the source's source. It works fine for me ... <g>
Plus, it documents the fact I got the info second hand. Once I've
confirmed what the original source says, I delete the detail from that
particular tag and re-source it as the primary source. Does that make
sense? No, of course not. How about a simple example:
John Doe b. 1865 [Source is Mary Smith's book citing James Johnson's
book.] What I do is create a source for Mary Smith's book and attach it
to John Doe's birth. In the CD, I put the phrase "citing James Johnson's
book". If I ever get my hands on the Johnson book, I can "dump" the
Mary Smith source and replace it with the James Johnson source.

Ok- I've got a problem.
I've got an unpublished manuscript which consists of a list in
D'Aboville
number order with entries as follows:

1.1 Next Person-same layout
etc....
Now- my question.....
How is the best way to enter this? Since none of the sources are
connected to
any individual event should I just set up the manuscript as the source
and
use it for the name only and then put the references in the CD? Set up a
source for each reference and attach it as a source to the name?
HELP!!!!!!
