Paul said about Item Tips:

The Item Tip is an extension of what you can see on the screen. In the
case of event memos, for instance, you can see one line of the memo without
using the Item Tip. Hovering over it displays the rest of the word-wrapped
value.

If the same thing were applied to the "S" column, then the contents of that
column would have to be a check mark (then maybe a space) plus the text of
the citation(s). That would be good from the standpoint that you could
simply widen the "S" column to see the text of the citation(s) while
scrolling _without_ using Item Tips. But it would be awkward from the
standpoint that if you increase the number of rows per tag (using the
right-click menu) and left the column one character wide, then the "S"
column would show a check mark on the first line, one letter on the second
line, another letter on the third line, etc.

It would also slow down the calculation of the Person View. If you want it
to calculate a proper citation (not just source name plus citation detail)
then it would take even longer.

Single clicking on the "S" column (or any other) moves the focus to that
row. Double-clicking on it enters the tag. Right-clicking pops up a menu.
