I'm guessing that this applies to some death-related tag (not in the Death
Tag Group) and that you have created these and other Roles. I am also
guessing that the "Deceased" Role will be used Principal #1 (and the second
Principal would be left blank) while "Priest" and other Custom Roles would
be used for Witnesses.
TMG will not allow a tag to use the Principal Role if one of the Principals
has a different Role assigned. Thus when you add a new Tag of this Type,
and change the Principal Role for Principal #1, TMG will change the
Principal #2 Role to something other than Principal -- either the next one
created or the next alphabetically or on based on the default Tag Sentence
for the "Deceased" Role [never paid much attention]. In such a case, you
need to change the Principal #2 Role to something else if you want to use
the "Priest" Role as a Witness. If you don't ever plan to enter anyone in
Principal #2, you might create a Role named "Empty". Then you can assign
that Role when needed.
Hope this helps -
