Can anyone explain how I can get [W] to give just the first given name in
the following sentence?
[:CR:][:TAB:][W] was named as a beneficiary in her father's will [M] made
<[D]> <[L]>
The witness in question has a primary name Margaret SACKETT and a Name-Marr
of Margaret (Sackett) JENKIN. I am trying to get the sentence to read
"Margaret was named...".
The witness is one of several beneficiaries with the role R:Dau so I cannot
use RF:Dau as this lists all the daughters. I've tried using a Name-Nix tag
with just the name "Margaret" but cannot get this to show in the list of
available names in the tag entry screen. (I am using Name-Nix instead of
Name-Var as I do not want to show the name "Margaret" on its own in the SS
index & I have the Name-Nix tag disabled in SS.) The available names in the
tag entry screen show as "Primary Name"; "Margaret SACKETT"; "Margaret
(Sackett) JENKIN"; and then "Margaret SACKETT" again. I assume this repeated
name choice is coming from the Name-Nix tag but cannot figure where the
program is picking up "SACKETT" from when the Name-Nix is just "Margaret".
