Well said, Donald!

I sometimes think that we develop tunnel vision, especially now with tools
like the computer & TMG, email and electronic on-line databases. If we had
to write it all out in long hand, or type it up on an old manual typewriter,
we would certainly cite our sources, but perhaps just that little bit more
succinctly! I'm working on paring down my sources, ie, not every single
census entry needs to be cited if the man was the appropriate age in each!
And if there are 4 records for birth & baptism of one beloved child, no I
don't think I have to cite every single one in my report.

It is a daunting task, though. I find I'm re-evaluating everything I look at
in my database. An old Selectric would probably be faster :>
