Actually the Surety is not so much about validity as it is about
reliability. There is a TMG Surety value that relates to validity (the
dash value), but it is the only such value. The remaining values are
relative to the perceived reliability of the data being cited. I may think
that a particular piece of information should be assigned a specific surety
value. That evaluation would be based on the source as well as my
perception of the source. My perception will also be colored by other
sources and my knowledge of the subject and other related factors.
