While the new fields were made available, it is more up to the user to
define how they are to be used. Thus there would not be a way to know what
should be moved into the field as many users would define the field uses
differently. Granted that in many ways the usage would be similar there
would still be some differences albeit probably minor. So, yes, you will
need to make the changes manually.
