If the lack of a built-in batch operation that you
want is causing you so much angst so early on in your
TMG experience, then I would suggest that you have got
the right idea -- contact the place from which you
purchased the program and see if you can't get your
refund (before you go further and are disapointed by
TMG's other features). You would perhaps be happier
with another program.

TMG is so "highly praised" because it is so flexible,
and can be programmed to acheive most any result that
a professional genealogist would want. It's a complex
program with lots of fantastic features that permit
customization tailored to each users' needs -- and as
such, in order to use those features to their fullest,
it is necessarily not always a simple operation.

So it's not an easy program -- i.e. it's not a program
that will do everything for you all by itself. There
are many other programs out there that are simpler to
use. But I love TMG, not becasue of the ease of use
(it is not, in my opinion, easy to use), but becasue
there is no other program out there (again, my
opinion) that has the fexibility that TMG has.
