Back from work now...Yellowknife is indeed the capital of the Northwest
Territories of Canada and Great Slave Lake is visible from my computer
desk here. We are about 1000 miles north of Edmonton. People do
water-ski and sail on this large lake but it is only ice-free from June
to September. Snowmobiling and dog sledding are also popular. I confess
I am more into indoor activities this time of year. My summer hobby is
photography, and while we are all waiting you can see some photos at
