Hi, John:

Yes, you just did, and I would be for it in preference to any other
currently mentioned suggestion. If no cursor location is active (I don't
know that this is even possible), then the current default style for the
project.

I think the first step might be Robin's suggestion, which is that the user
should have the "L1" ... "L9" MPL label display option. This might be the
easiest to implement, and gets us a good way along the road....
