"Adressee" is only used in the Address tag, and is used fr a name, the name of the person you are addressing a card, letter, or whatever, to. Whereas somebody might appear in your dataset as Mary Elizabeth JONES, she might appear in the Addressee field as Mrs. William Patrick Benedick-Smyth.
The Detail field can be divided into up to nine different Detail fields, each of unlimited length, as [DETAIL1] [DETAIL2] etc. Only Detail 1 prints by default, although you can include any or all of them in a sentence. Divide it with ||
Detail is used for the name of a church, cemetery, school, the place name of a house or estate (i.e. Tara, Buckingham Palace). Or for a street address.
You should also remember that TMG describes each field as [L1] to [L9]. The other names, such as CITY, COUNTY, STATE, are aliases and can be changed by the user. I'm not sure what differences exist in regard to place names between the US and UK editions.<g>
