Julie,

The court appointed guardians for the *estates* of the minor children, not
guardians of the children, themselves. The guardians were to protect the estates
of the heirs until minor heirs reached lawful age. They should have had to
file an annual account for the minor heir's estate. Sometimes, I've found that
several years of accounts were filed together. You should check Kentucky law
for the time period, but a minor probably was under age 21 during this time
period.
