Well keep me posted. I am intrigued now. I STILL think it's a bug. <G>

Teresa, GET THIS ...

For grins, I changed the Name-Test style output template to read:

[Title] As listed on the 1860 census "[Enumerated Name] [Surname]" [age
on
census] [Soundex]

And it prints beautifully. BUT, if I change the template to:

[Title] As listed on the 1860 census "[Enumerated Name] [Surname] [age
on
census] [Soundex]"

I get the extra space after (age 39):

As listed on the 1860 census "John Jones (age 39) " was Name-Test.

So, the problem seems less with the quotes themselves than it is with
the
placement of the quotes. I'm going to keep playing. <G>

Linda,
First,
I am not sure that the sentence [P+] will print anything or not. Have
never tried it. You might want to say [P+] was Name test just so you
can see it in the report. Then open the IN and MAKE SURE that Name-Test
is one of the ones selected. At times when you have ALL tags selected
and you make a new tag, that new tag will not print until you select it
for the list. (think that might be a bug too. <G>)
Everything else you did looks right.

Okay, Teresa, I may not have followed your directions as you intended
(but I
tried). Here's what I did.

I created a Name Tag called Name-Test with the sentence:

[P+]

I created a Name Style called Name-Test as follows:
Label 1 Title
Label 2 Prefix
Label 3 Enumerated Name
Label 4 PreSurname
Label 5 Surname
Label 6 age on census
Label 7 Soundex
Label 8 Sortsurname
Label 9 SortGiven

Output Template:
[Title] As listed on the 1860 census [Enumerated Name] [Surname]
[age on
census] [Soundex]

In the Name-Test tag, I selected Name-Test style and entered:

Enumerated Name = John
Surname = Jones
Age on census = (age 39)

The Name/Place column in Person View [PV] shows:

As listed on the 1860 census John JONES (age 39)

I set the Individual Narrative [IN] to print ALL TAGS. When I printed
the
IN, the Name-Test tag does not print at all.

[Title] As listed on the 1860 census [Enumerated Name] [Surname] [age on
census] [Soundex]
Which shows on the PV as "As listed on the 1860 census John Jones (age
23)"

Teresa, do me a favor and give me some examples that I can try. I can't
seem to get any literal text to work. But then, maybe I'm just not
holding
my tongue right. <G>

Linda,
I would still report this to support, simply because I have TEXT as
part of name styles and it works fine. So why doesn't your "s? I just
don't understand.
